"I had an excellent experience working with Caleb at State Farm. He helped me navigate a very complicated situation involving purchasing a vehicle through Carvana and then having to switch vehicles shortly after. From start to finish, Caleb was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and responsive.

"TLDR: Disappointed in service received, charged unexpectedly, and not refunded what I was told I would be. I have found cheaper insurance with higher coverage limits elsewhere.

I wanted to share with anyone that may want this information, the issues I had with this agency. Even if they were to offer lower rates now, I wouldn't go back. First, when I tried to add a new car to my policy back in October, they replaced one car for another, instead of having them both on there. Definitely my mistake for not catching immediately. When I set it up I thought the agent and I were on the same page about adding and not replacing the car, plus my total amount charged was really high so it seemed like both cars and I didn't have a reason to doubt that the agent set it up wrong. I didn't know my other car wasn't covered until I got a fine from the State of Georgia saying my car wasn't insured. I am incredibly lucky my wife and myself didn't get into an accident during that time in that car. I accept this as my fault for not double checking after the agent but it was definitely a scary situation looking back and not something I have dealt with before.

When I had the old car added back to the policy my rate doubled to a crazy high number (even though the car is an '09 Carolla). I started shopping around for new companies and rates. I found one with better coverage, roadside assistance and more included, for about half what StateFarm charged. I signed up for the new insurance and then after cancelling over the phone with the office directly in February and asking if auto payment would be cancelled and I was told that it would be, I was charged anyway.

I figured I would be automatically refunded, but when I wasn't I gave them a call and they agreed I would be sent a check for the amount that I was billed. The agent literally repeated the number back to me and I felt like I had confirmation. A couple of weeks later I received a check for $3, literally hundreds of dollars lower than what was agreed that I was owed over the phone.

I called their office again and they said another check was on its way but it still would be hundreds off of the full amount I was wrongly charged. After the agent looked more into it, he said it was because of backdated charges because of discounts that I was given over several months that I didn't earn because I didn't finish enrollment in the discount program. (Not sure why the discounts were continuously applied if I didn't finish enrollment)

They totalled those discounts that had been applied and then took that money out of the money that I was wrongly autobilled. Looking back now, I'm not even sure if they calculated the amount correctly as I don't have any insight or itemization of what they are saying I owed back to them.

I can see where they are coming from with in collecting the money from the discounts because if I didn't finish enrollment I am not entitled to the discounts, but they didn't let me know they were going to send less or why, when I was on the phone cancelling the first time back in February or a few weeks ago when I called to get what was auto billed refunded.

I may be expecting too much but I do feel I was owed a call or email or something if I am going to be receiving hundreds of dollars less than the refund I was told I was owed."

"Yesterday I called to cancel my insurance because I found a better rate. Nico answered the phone and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He questioned why I was leaving State Farm so I explained my concerns. He is new and I’d never spoken with him before. He listened completely and responded that he understood. Although he was unable to do anything about the rate he convinced me to allow him to call me back in 6 months. Nico is very personable with excellent customer service. They need more representatives like Nico!"
